A Poem For Dr. Seuss's Birthday

Posted in Daily Grace, Maria on 3/2/2012 9:03:54 AM by Maria

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

One fish, two fish,
Daily Grace wrote this.
It's a poem and it's great!
So watch her read it and...go out and tell people how amazing and freaking awesome it is.

THE END.

Wanderlust Is Now Playing In Theaters

Weekend Plans for a David Wain Fan:
  • Buy tickets for Wanderlust.
  • See Wanderlust (on Friday, February 24th, the day that it opens).
  • Sleep.
  • Dream about Wanderlust and how much we love seeing movies that David Wain directs.
  • See Wanderlust again.
  • Clean our room (mostly to make room for the Wanderlust poster we're going to buy).
  • Watch the Wainy Days DVD.
  • See Wanderlust (the matinee on Sunday).
  • Have lunch at Five Guys.
  • Write a fan letter to David Wain and Ken Marino, thanking them for writing Wanderlust.
  • Watch the Oscars.
  • Live-tweet the Oscars and tell everyone at our Oscar party why David Wain really deserves to be there.
  • Write a status update on Facebook about how amazing Wanderlust is.
  • Send a friend request to David Wain.
  • Like the Wanderlust Facebook Page.
  • Tell everyone we know to see Wanderlust, too.

Basically. Probably. In a nutshell. Most likely. Surely. Definitely.

Be our social media intern.

This is his "excited" face.

Meet Matt The Intern.

Look at how excited Matt The Intern is to be one of the very first people holding the brand-new Wainy Days DVD.

If you were our intern you would be as lucky as he is, too. In FACT, today IS your lucky day because we need social media and graphics interns.

Here's the deal:

  • *We are located in New York City, so you must be, too. Or you must be willing at least to commute into New York City on a regular basis.
  • *You can receive college credit! If this is of interest to you we can do this... however...
  • *Being a student is not a prerequisite. Just know that.

Here are the skills we're looking for:

  • *You should be familiar with our content. Some of it. All of it. Take your pick. But you should know something about us.
  • *You should have strong writing skills. Please send us links to your Twitter and Tumblr and blog. But not your Pinterest. We don't care about that...YET.
  • *You should have basic Photoshop and HTML skills. Have you ever created an image for a meme? Have you posted said image to your blog without the benefit of a blog editor? Do you sometimes wish you could just hold up an animated gif in real-life situations? Fantastic. You're who we want.
  • *Basic Final Cut Pro or other video editing skills are wonderful and we could definitely figure out how to use your skills effectively and creatively, but they are not necessary.

Here's what you'd be doing:

  • *Hanging out on Tumblr all day.
  • *Creating gifs of our content.
  • *Helping us think of hashtags.
  • *Photoshopping Mary Lynn Rajskub's head onto Jeremy Lin's body just because we think saying "Mary Lynn-sanity" is funny.
  • *Helping to optimize all of our social media outlets aesthetically and strategically.
  • *Not all of it is fun. Sometimes there is data entry. Sometimes there is heavy lifting. Sometimes there is a coffee run that needs running.

BUT you would definitely get a Wainy Days DVD. Well, probably.

Please send all inquiries to Maria [at] MyDamnChannel [dot] com.

Thanks! And may the odds be ever in your favor! (But not in a BAD Hunger Games sort of way!)

(PS: We have several videos starring Elizabeth Banks!)

Coolio In A Cook-Off

Did you watch Coolio on The Food Network's Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off? You wouldn't be alone. The Food Network posted the highest ratings in its history last month.

We'd like to think that The Food Network's dramatic increase in viewership is directly related to the Ghetto Gourmet. After, all, who can resist chicken so good it falls off the bone or a caprese salad so tasty it makes your drawers drop?

Coolio came in second to Lou Diamond Phillips despite breaking out the big guns like Soul Rolls and a newer, Guy Fieri-approved version of his Cool-A-Cado, winning a more-than-respectable $10,000 for Music Saves Lives. To which we say, Shaka, Coolio. Shaka forever.

Butt Touchdown For The Win!

Ahem.

The New York Giants won Super Bowl XLVI with a "butt touchdown:"

We would like to go on record to say that we believe this "butt touchdown" may have been inspired by Daily Grace's special Super Bowl cheer:

But our FAVORITE part may have been Madonna's halftime show because it felt like her costume was an homage to someone very familiar:

Super Bowl Tips With Daily Grace

Daily Grace knows LOTS about football* and she spent all week telling you how to have some fun on Super Bowl Sunday.

1. Learn about Tom Brady and Eli Manning.
For example, only one of these quarterbacks is Team Edward.*

2. Learn all you can about football.
Just, you know, in general.

3. Learn what to eat at a Super Bowl party!
At least, we think it's edible.

4. Learn a Super Bowl cheer!
Be a cheerleader. And be aggressive. "B.E. AGGRESSIVE."

Hope these Super Bowl tips help! Good luck to [insert name of team of your choice here]!

*These things may not be true.

Florida Republican Debate You WEREN'T Supposed To See

HEY! That's not Wolf Blitzer!

Actor/author/director/satirist/musician/radio host Harry Shearer's found footage of the CNN team prepping for the Florida Republican Debate using civilians as stand-ins for the candidates might be the best thing to happen to the GOP Debate since Michele Bachmann took the longest pee break ever.

Newt Gingrich is looking decidedly more feminine since the last time we saw him. When the petite redheaded woman introduces herself as "Newt Gingrich" and proclaims "I just ran a marathon before I got here," Fake Wolf Blitzer chuckles and her fellow faux candidates smile.

Could they possibly find her more charming than the real thing?

Hey GOP Candidates, relax a little! Slip into something more comfortable! Let your hair down!

That's more like it. Now how about we whistle the National Anthem?

Founder/CEO Rob Barnett on the Online Video Space

At CES 2012, Founder/CEO Rob Barnett gave JWT Worldwide Chairman and CEO Bob Jeffrey a little insight into his perspective on the online video space and My Damn Channel's strategy:

Celebrity Sleepovers with Mark Malkoff!

Mark Malkoff figured out fast that Los Angeles gets expensive for a guy living out of a suitcase. So he decided simply to ask celebrities if he could sleep at their homes. He just ASKED them! And they said YES!

He slept with Camryn Manheim's Emmy. He met Mary Lynn Rajskub and her son. He stayed in Justine Bateman's treehouse. He practiced napping with Kristen Schaal. He slept in the same bed with Kate Walsh...only after Kate called Mark's wife and assured her that it was perfectly fine since she wasn't attracted to him at all!

Ed Begley, Jr., Dave Coulier, "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig, "Everybody Loves Raymond" creator Phil Rosenthal, legends Buck Henry and Dick Cavett...Mark convinced them all to open their doors and let him spend the night.

Well... almost all of them (Lookin' at you, Rob Corddry. Lookin' at YOU.).

Watch what happened at Dave Coulier's house now!

It's National Peanut Butter Day!

It's National Peanut Butter Day...

to which we say...

Yet another reason why Ken Marino will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
