Be our social media intern.

This is his "excited" face.

Meet Matt The Intern.

Look at how excited Matt The Intern is to be one of the very first people holding the brand-new Wainy Days DVD.

If you were our intern you would be as lucky as he is, too. In FACT, today IS your lucky day because we need social media and graphics interns.

Here's the deal:

  • *We are located in New York City, so you must be, too. Or you must be willing at least to commute into New York City on a regular basis.
  • *You can receive college credit! If this is of interest to you we can do this... however...
  • *Being a student is not a prerequisite. Just know that.

Here are the skills we're looking for:

  • *You should be familiar with our content. Some of it. All of it. Take your pick. But you should know something about us.
  • *You should have strong writing skills. Please send us links to your Twitter and Tumblr and blog. But not your Pinterest. We don't care about that...YET.
  • *You should have basic Photoshop and HTML skills. Have you ever created an image for a meme? Have you posted said image to your blog without the benefit of a blog editor? Do you sometimes wish you could just hold up an animated gif in real-life situations? Fantastic. You're who we want.
  • *Basic Final Cut Pro or other video editing skills are wonderful and we could definitely figure out how to use your skills effectively and creatively, but they are not necessary.

Here's what you'd be doing:

  • *Hanging out on Tumblr all day.
  • *Creating gifs of our content.
  • *Helping us think of hashtags.
  • *Photoshopping Mary Lynn Rajskub's head onto Jeremy Lin's body just because we think saying "Mary Lynn-sanity" is funny.
  • *Helping to optimize all of our social media outlets aesthetically and strategically.
  • *Not all of it is fun. Sometimes there is data entry. Sometimes there is heavy lifting. Sometimes there is a coffee run that needs running.

BUT you would definitely get a Wainy Days DVD. Well, probably.

Please send all inquiries to Maria [at] MyDamnChannel [dot] com.

Thanks! And may the odds be ever in your favor! (But not in a BAD Hunger Games sort of way!)

(PS: We have several videos starring Elizabeth Banks!)

Happy Wainy-tine's Day!

Guys, for real, I was totally going to get you all flowers for Valentine's Day, but I waited until the last minute, and now my florist is trying to FRICKIN' GOUGE ME...

Luckily I came up with something much better.

The Wainy Days Seasons 1-4 DVD is out!

You heard right...it's a DVD! An actual, physical memento that you can hold and cherish and lose when you move to a new place, and then download illegally from a torrent site even though file sharing is Un-American! (No joking though, don't do it. It makes David angry. You won't like David when he's angry.)

And this isn't just some ho-hum, hodge-podge compilation of webisodes you can watch for free online. Don't believe me? Then check out this sneak peek of the EXTREMELY NSFW "Makeout MegaMix," just one of the many extras:

It's an exciting time to be David Wain, or just a fan of David Wain. His new movie, Wanderlust (starring Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston) opens Friday. "Wainy Days Seasons 1-4" is available TODAY. Oh and can't get enough DW? Check out all the hardcore Season Five action right here.

See? You ARE loved! Now if only we could reach this guy:

Wainy Days Are Here Again!

It's back! It's back! Wainy Days is back with all new episodes! Here are some reasons we're jumping up and down right now (Really. We are. Right now. We promise.):

1. David Wain knows how to bring the hot girls.
It's true. David Wain's past adventures have included Rashida Jones, Elizabeth Banks, Amanda Peet and Megan Mullally. If there's one thing we've been missing in our lives, it's a reliable source of HOT GIRLS.

2. Erinn Hayes and Lizzy Caplan.
Two ridiculously hot girls. This is different from number one because we're being specific. Okay, so maybe it's a subdivision of number one. What are you our English teacher? (Seriously, is that you, Mrs. O'Neil?!)

3. Jorma Taccone.
A member of The Lonely Island, director of MacGruber, and probably one of the few men on the planet who can make this face in a song called "J--z In My Pants" and have millions of women think it's adorable:

4. David Wain.
We're so happy that between writing and shooting Childrens Hospital and making a movie with Paul Rudd and Jennifer Aniston and touring the country in honor of Wet Hot American Summer, David could find the time to get himself into a Fiat and drive around with old friends like Ken Marino, Thomas Lennon, Zandy Hartig and Steven Weber to entertain us and make us laugh and give us new videos to watch every Monday when we're supposed to be doing something else at work.

Thanks, David Wain. This Wain's for you:

Pretty Girls Everywhere!

Posted in Maria, Wainy Days with tags Garfunkel and Oates, comedy songs, cute comedy girls, wainy days on 10/5/2011 11:29:59 AM by Maria

Pretty girls are everywhere around here!

We already know you're in love with Daily Grace. We've heard you obsess about Elizabeth Banks and Rashida Jones. But we want you to know two more: Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci, known together as Garfunkel and Oates.

We'll tell you more about them this Friday, when they star in a new Wainy Days BONUS music video, but for now just start with this song, "This Party Took A Turn For The Douche."

We knew for sure we had a crush on them when we heard the lyric "I ain't in love with you, cousin! I ain't George Michael Bluth! This party just took a turn... for the douche." Anyone who can reference Jim Croce and Arrested Development in the same song deserves undying respect, yo.

Our Idiot Brother

The new Paul Rudd-starring "Our Idiot Brother" opens in theaters this weekend, gifting America with the genial tale of a simple-minded fuckup (Rudd) and his exhasperated extented family. I haven't seen it yet, but David Wain has...

And while he's undoubtably correct, Mr. Wain may not be the most impartial critic. The "Brother" cast list reads like a who's who of Wainy Days All-Stars. Aside from Paul Rudd, there's Rashida Jones, Elizabeh Banks, and, let's see... looks like that's it. But hey, three's a lot! Besides, would David Wain ever steer you wrong?

Wet Hot American Decade

People forget how much the world has changed in the last decade.  Blogs, social networking, web video.  All of these post-Y2K innovations have radically altered the way we interact with the world—particularly the world of entertainment.  You may not remember, but back before there was such a thing as forward-thinking online content providers, there were literally only two ways to entertain oneself: by 1) burning the effigy of a rival tribal leader, or 2) firing up the ol' top-loading VCR to watch a battered VHS copy of David Wain's cult summer camp spoof Wet Hot American Summer.

Yes, long before Wainy Days was even a twinkle in the director's eye, Wet Hot showcased Wain's unique brand of unpredictable, absurdist humor, and featured a cast that now seems like a murderers’ row of the most important comedic performers of the early 21st century.

(Leslie Knope [L], and Johnny Limitless [R])

Some, like Paul Rudd and Elizabeth Banks, have turned up on Wainy Days; while others, like A.D. Miles, have gone on to create their very own (excellent) series like Horrible People.

To celebrate the film’s 10th anniversary, David Wain & Co. have mounted a nation-wide tour, featuring screenings, Q&A's, and live shows.  To wit, here's David Wain and Wet Hot co-star Jo Lo Truglio revisiting some alternate titles for the film.  And if you're jonesing for even more of Wain live, don't forget to check out the Wainy Days live show at this year's Just For Laughs.  And remember: if you wanna smear mud on your ass, smear mud on your ass, just be honest about it.

Wainy Days' Very Own Elizabeth Banks up for Emmy

Posted in Emmys, Wainy Days with tags Elizabeth Banks, Wainy Days, Emmy Awards, Television on 7/15/2011 8:30:00 AM by Josh Meisel

Congratulations to Elizabeth Banks for her Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series! In case Thursday is your bowling night, Elizabeth Banks plays Jack Donaghy's baby's mother Avery on NBC's 30 Rock. She also plays Wainy Days' Shelly, who shattered the web series' records by dating the fictionalized Wain in three separate episodes! Check them out here, here and here.

"Wainy Days" - Kissed Again

There'd be NO My Damn Channel if David Wain hadn't said YES to being one of the first artists that launched with us here on "day one" (7/31/07) with the very first episode of "Wainy Days" starring David & Elizabeth Banks.

4 seasons and almost 4 years later - there are 32 awesome episodes (so far) and this morning another well-deserved kiss:

"Wainy Days" has just been selected as an Official Honoree for Comedy Series in the 15th annual Webby Awards.

Congratulations to David, to our most awesome Producer, Jon Stern, and to every collaborator and fan supporting one of the best comedy series ever.

We promise MORE...and work has just begun on a "Wainy Days" DVD coming out later this year near the release of David's new feature film comedy, "Wanderlust."

3 Years Ago: Launch Mode

Good things come in 3's.

3 years ago, a small band of true believers were readying the launch of My Damn Channel: 7/31/07.

Here are the inaugural videos from the first 3 artists we signed.

David Wain came in with the world's fastest pitch for Wainy Days: (paraphrasing) "I want to make out with the hottest women in the world and every date goes horribly wrong."

His first episode (a 3-parter) co-stars Elizabeth Banks as Shelly:

David Wain as David Wain, Elizabeth Banks as Shelly.

Harry Shearer was the first hero we signed. He sat in prosthetic makeup for over 4 hours to become Dick Cheney, singing sexy for Scooter Libby:

Harry Shearer as Dick Cheney.

We wanted music to marry comedy in our company from Day One. We turned to another brother and one of the best musicians and producers on the planet, Don Was.

Don's "Wasmopolitan Cavalcade of Recorded Music" is an earful of the best music you can't get anywhere else.

His first My Damn Channel production starred one of the smartest singer/songwriters we know, Jill Sobule:

Don Was, Rob Barnett, Jill Sobule, Warren Chao at the My Damn Channel west coast launch party, 2007.

Here's a rare, bonus video from the archives. Day one back on 7/31/07 also starred Big Fat Brain, the geniuses behind You Suck at Photoshop, and the web designers of all things DAMN. One of our only spoof vids looked 20 years into the FUTURE and poked our pals at Funny or Die, who had launched a few months earlier:

Wainy Days is produced by Jonathan Stern.

"
I love that the world keeps wanting to follow my pathetic (albeit fictional) quest to meet women,” says Wain.  “As long as the audience demands it, I will continue to hire actresses to make out with me and put it on the web."

“If My Damn Channel is a new world version of an old NBC, then David Wain would definitely be our ‘Seinfeld,’” says Rob Barnett, Founder/CEO. “David continues to earn all the accolades that ‘Wainy Days’ has won by topping himself every season. His series turns sexual angst into uniquely twisted comedy.”
